Meet Mrs. Candace
Hi! I'm Mrs. Candace, founder of Sonbeams - a Christian based company devoted to helping parents and teachers raise up a Godly generation. I'd like to share with you a little about myself and our family.
My husband and I have 4 children with us, 3 sons and 1 daughter, and 1 blessing with the Lord. I am blessed to have a husband that supports my staying at home and teaching our children. Our oldest will soon be 6 years old, and then you can count down 17 to 21 months for each child following. :)
I myself was homeschooled from 7th to 12th grade, and count it a blessing to have those years of schooling with the main focus on God's Word. After graduation, I found myself in a teaching position at a local preschool. I have always known the Lord's calling on my life was to work with children, and here I learned what all was involved in lesson planning and teaching young children.
Fast forward a few years and I'm married with 2 children. When our oldest son was nearing 3 years old, ALL he could talk about was wanting to do school! We had already learned many 'school' things, but for his birthday, we made a school room for him and I had everything together to have 'real school' - homeschool style. My main goal in teaching him was to teach about the Lord as much as possible.
We weren't in a position to buy a lot of materials, so I used what I had - and we had so much fun (and learned at the same time). Little did I know that God had a plan for all of the plans I was using for our family. As a way to teach Bible verses to our children, I began playing little tunes along with them. This is what you now are familiar with as the "ABC Bible Memory Verse Songs".
The Lord isn't through with me, or Sonbeams, yet. I am excited about all the new ideas He gives me, and even more excited about the next CD album I'm working on!
