How’s your school year going?
We are still without internet, except my weekly visit to my parents to get online – but hopefully we’ll be connected by the beginning of next week!
Most of our boxes of school supplies are still in the garage, waiting to be opened, but we have started school on a simple level. Each day we learn (or review) an ABC. We practice writing it (in print or cursive), signing it (from Sonbeams lesson guides), reviewing our ABC Bible verse and song, and playing a game where we name as many words as we can that begins with the letter for that day.
This isn’t quite enough for my 5 year old, but is good for our 3.5 and 2 year old for now – as we are still enjoying the thrill of toys that have been packed up for awhile.
My time online today is almost up, but I wanted to drop a note so you know I haven’t abandoned the site! I’d love to hear how/ what some of you are doing – especially the new members this year. I’m hoping to be back to ‘business’ by next week – so we can really begin a great new school year!
Oh, before I forget!! I received an email that Signing Time is releasing a new product. If you’ve read Sonbeams for any length of time, you know that I am a firm believer in Signing Time teaching children sign language. Click the link below to check out what’s new!
Out of all ages, I’ve found my children love this show the best when they are 2 or 3 – they also pick up SO much from it! We used to get this on our local public television station, and would record it. Now that it no longer comes on, we love to watch the videos. The stories are very entertaining for young ones – my children hang on every word.
